At educating AMY, every book sold helps build schools and sponsor education for children without opportunities around the world. With your purchases, you have gifted hope to children in need of education to further their quality of life and that of their families. We plan on expanding education opportunities in countries all over the world in the future.
Currently, Educating AMY is focusing on developing girl's schools in rural areas of India. Why did we start here? Well, many families live in poverty inside of the more remote spaces of India. Because they struggle with income, many cannot afford to send all of their children to schools and are forced to choose which of their children will receive schooling. This choice is influenced by several factors, including:
1. How much help does the family need to retain at home (help on a farm, taking care of younger children, etc.).
2. The availability of jobs that require education in the area.
3. Stigmas surrounding women and the workforce.
Many jobs that require education also hire more men than women in the rural areas of India. Preference is given to men often due to the understanding that men are usually the primary earners of their families in most of India and stigmatization towards female workers as they believe they are less capable. Knowing this, families often choose to educate their sons so they have a better chance of elevating their quality of life.
Also, families in rural India often require the help of their children to run the home, family, and even farms. They often have their daughters stay at home to fill in this gap for reasons already outlined above.Often, helping in the home with cooking, cleaning, and raising the children is considered the necessary education needed for girls in these areas. There is a large emphasis on traditional roles. While a man is expected to be an earner for the family, women are generally meant to become good mothers and wives. Unfortunately, some believe that their daughters can only help the family by staying at home to assist in chores until they become married and run their own families.
Furthermore, this has led to some sad practices such as marrying child brides as girls tend to be more of a financial burden in the eyes of families who are too desperate to house and care for them into adulthood.
At Educating AMY, we aim to address the issues that keep girls away from education. By providing schools and sponsoring education, we remove the financial burden on families to educate their daughters. If the family does not have to pay for the education, they are much more likely to send their daughters to school as it only increases the likelihood it will increase the quality of life for them and their families when there is no financial burden.
Also, by providing more education, we are trying to help normalize an educated, female workforce, slowly opening up more jobs to women workers and making it clear to families that it is financially beneficial to send your daughters to school as well as your sons. Lastly, by educating girls in these more rural areas, we are keeping each girl from becoming a bride until she at least completes her education, lessening the number of child brides every year.
So, we want to thank you. Thank you for making a positive difference for girls and their families in need. We're just getting started and we appreciate that you are a part of the journey with us.

We got this busy book for our son for his birthday and it's been a big hit on car rides. Sometimes he'll start to cry because he doesn't want to be strapped in, and as soon as we hand him his book he's immediately engaged. It's the perfect size for him to handle and it's so thoughtfully put together!
I got this as a gift for my baby who just turned 1 year old! She doesn’t fully understand the book yet, but she finds the colors and textures appealing. She especially loves the page with the mesh and buttons feeding the fish. I just know she’ll love to play and explore with it even more as she gets a bit older. I’m so excited to see her develop her motor skills with this beautifully made book 🩷
we love this little farm book. I got it to be a new toy/busy toy for our 16 month old's first flight and it lived up to the hype. her favorite pages are the hedgehog threading one and the flower with petals that can come off.
My daughter was absolutely thrilled when she opened this book up. Right now, she’s very into playing doctor so she has been enjoying it a lot. This book makes for endless fun, imagination and a ton of independent quiet playtime. 100/10 would recommend.
This is one educational quiet book perfect for my 3 year old. I did a video in Mandarin Chinese for a thorough review. My son fell in love with it the moment he spotted the new addition on his book shelf. He pretend played for hours with me. Buying vegetables and trading money haha. We just love educating Amy so much!
My little prince absolutely loves his little mini abacus play book. There's so many mini activities that it's just endless "quiet" play. His favorites are definitely feeding the hippo and also the fishing game though he hasn't quite gotten the concept of how to use the magnet to fish. He insists on helping me attach the purple fish specifically onto the rod and handing it to me. Small and compact. This is super useful. Can't wait to bring this on my road trip next week!
My 1 year old daughter loves this book. It has kept her occupied in many a cafe, restaurant, and even a tennis match 😂
I can see already how she will grow with the book over the next few years as she develops!
I can’t recommend this enough!
We LOVE this activity book. Our 16 month old will play with this for a half hour or more. There are so many ways to play and learn with this book. 10/10
The book was a hit! Everyone was so impressed by the quality and mission statement and multiple people wanted to get more as gifts for friends. Finger puppet add-ins were great too - colorful and cute, 2yo asked for help putting them on her own fingers as soon as she saw them demo’d on ours!
We have bought 4 of these books for our now 5 month old and she absolutely loves them. We put them in the playpen with her and she started off by just chewing on the corners of the books, then she learned how to open the books, next i watched her learning to turn pages and grab at the different puppets or buttons. Can't wait until she's old enough to actually play with the hand puppets but we will be buying more of these you can watch them learning right in front of your eyes you'll feel like they are hitting new milestones all the time.
This book has been so wonderful! My oldest daughter got it when she was 3 for Christmas and it has since been loved by both my daughters! It was essential for quiet time for my oldest while her newborn sister napped! And today when I finally gor around to asking about replacement pieces for the dolls that my youngest has lost. I was told they will replace 5 pieces at any time for free! So two new dolls are on their way to my daughters for even more play!
Thank you!
Baby is just about 6mo and has been playing with this since he was about 3mo. It's been interesting to see how he plays change -- what he can grab, what he's interested in. I'm excited to see that continue to change!
Amazing resource! This tool helped us potty train this little guy by the time he was 21 months. Only 1 week in he was asking to use the potty himself and letting us know he had to go! We still are working on naps and bed time, but I am so happy to be almost out of diapers!
Having multiple options allows you to pick which will work best for your own situation!
I have 3 grandchildren - 6, 5 and 9 months. All three love the book for different reasons. It is beautifully made and keeps them all occupied - sometimes together.
This quiet book is so well made and perfectly thought out. I’ve purchased a few quiet books on Amazon and none of them were as good quality as this one. I also felt like sometimes those are just buttons and zippers. This is colorful and interesting. It keeps my daughter interested for a while. It’s developmentally appropriate and allows for a lot of open ended exploration. My daughter loves buckling up the koala bear and “going fishing”. We can’t wait to use it on our next trip!
My Granddaughter lives in Australia. Educating Amy got Halle’s book to her, no problem! The kids love it! Halle and her 2 sisters all enjoy it:). It’s great entertainment for car riding and quiet times!
I have bought several Educating Amy books. They are my go to for gift giving for babies and toddlers (their older siblings enjoy them too)! Holly has done an amazing job of helping to educate and entertain the little ones in our lives. The communication and attention to detail with the shipping is incredible too. They get it right every time! Thanks very much.
My little girl loves this little book and so do I. This sweet little book allows my little one and I to actively learn and play together. It is also a very engaging solo experience for her. She loves playing with all the Velcro animals especially the cats and stretching the zebra head. I love how interactive this book is and can’t wait for our next one to arrive.
When the first activity book I ordered turned out to be backordered, EducatingAmy saved the day with their intentional, above-and-beyond customer service. They were able to change my order to an in stock activity book and get it shipped the same day! My daughter already loves this activity book for independent play time, and I can’t wait to see all of the ways it helps her learn about daily routines.
I received the Safari Book as a gift at our baby shower. My daughter very quickly fell in love with it. At 5 months it’s her favourite toy. She loves the animal finger puppets and has a different sound and reaction for each one. Such a great product!
My daughter loves this busy book and it keeps her attention sustained longer than any of her other books/toys, which has helped with easier travel on two flights this summer! Love it!
As soon as I put my 10 month old twins in their playpen they make a beeline for this quiet book. At this age they just like to play with the velcro, and I will often stick pieces to their clothes so they can pull them off each other in passing. They will get a bit territorial about it so I’ll have to get another book with a different theme. I put some of the smaller pieces like the toothbrush in the zipper back pocket for safekeeping until they are old enough not to be mouthing. Overall love the craftsmanship of this over those on Etsy, especially since it contributes to a good cause - education of women and girls, and job creation.
My daughter loves her book. She is a bit young so is learning with it. She loves pulling off the shapes, triangle is her favourite. I was quite skeptical with the buttons but she is so engaged into it, she always tries to move the buttons around. The seller was very cooperative with the orders too. They helped me execute few changes I wanted and they made it very easy. I have a few of other quiet books on my list to buy. Lastly, it's beautifully made. Stitches are very good and looks sturdy. Beautiful book.
Educating Amy busy books are by far the best I've come across! The materials used are such high quality from the fabric pages to the hardware, such as snaps and zippers. We have the abacus book! I find it suitable for both of my kids (ages 16 months and 3 yrs). This book focuses on numbers and counting. There are things to count and add up on each page! My 3 year olds favorite page is the fishing page, and my 16 month old really enjoys the elephant page with the mirror! The last page has a little rotary phone which we are using to teach them our phone number! I couldn't be happier with this book!
